BJP may field another Bhojpuri actress from Asansol
The BJP has announced the list of its 195 candidates in the first list published on Saturday evening, which included the high profile Asansol Lok Sabha seat.
The central leadership it was learnt had turned down their request and expressed annoyance over the matter.
BJP national leaders will visit the city shortly after a nationalised bank refused to issue further overdraft to the state unit.
A nationalised bank has recently issued an order that the state unit that has a current account (number 0085002100022893) cannot take overdraft as it has crossed the limit of Rs 50 crore.
A senior leader of the party, who preferred anonymity, said the state leaders had desperately approached the central leadership to bail them out of the problem.

The central leadership it was learnt had turned down their request and expressed annoyance over the matter. A team comprising central leaders will come to the city shortly to discuss the matter.
The state leaders said the Central party had given huge amount of money, around Rs 150 crore to the state unit before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. It later got the information that a large portion of the money had not been used for election purposes.
It may be recalled that posters had been put up against a BJP leader in North 24-Parganas and Howrah alleging embezzlement of fund.
The state leaders alleged that huge amounts were spent to put up the central leaders in star hotels and other facilities that were being provided to them including transportation and other sundry expenses.
They said under such a situation state leaders had no other option but to approach local businessmen to provide funds to them. When contacted, senior state leaders refused to comment on the matter.
